The first industry standard in the field of physical intelligence was officially released.
Industry News / 2026.03.27

On March 26, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, together with more than 40 organizations, officially released the first industry standard in the field of embodied intelligence. This standard establishes a unified benchmark testing framework for the field, marking the entry of embodied‑intelligence evaluation into a new phase characterized by standardized criteria.

It is understood that this standard focuses on the key basic technologies of artificial intelligence and the benchmark test methods of physical intelligence, and at the same time clarifies the framework and capability requirements of the physical intelligence system. It will be officially implemented on June 1, 2026.

The standard regulates the benchmarking framework, methods, and metrics for physical intelligence systems in simulation and real environments. The evaluation system proposed by the standard supports the testing of basic capabilities, cognitive reasoning capabilities, and full-link closed-loop capabilities, covering four test methods: static simulation test, dynamic simulation test, real environment test, and combined test.

Experts pointed out that in order to ensure the operability of the standard, in the process of preparing the standard, a supporting test task library, test tools and standard test environment have been built simultaneously. At present, more than 10000 test task libraries have been built, covering 300 task types such as industry, household, retail and logistics. The test tools such as data acquisition and management, simulation task generation and index automation calculation are constructed.
